Roof Repairs at Holy Trinity
Holy Trinity has just started an 18 week work programme in what is hoped will be the final round of repairs to its roofs. Over the last 10 years, through major grant funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, the church has gradually replaced roof timbers that had been eaten into by beetle and wood rot. These latest repairs will mean that the church can be removed from Historic England’s ‘At Risk Register’ and the roofs should be secure for the next 100 years.
Scaffolding has had to be erected inside the church to support a high level ‘crash deck’ which will keep the workforce safe when they replace the roof timbers and the lead. The Heritage Lottery Fund is also helping the church to update its website and to make a video of church activities. Holy Trinity is a major Coventry attraction with its beautiful interior and its many special features such as the Medieval Doom painting and the West and East windows.
