TearFund

Thousands of people needlessly suffer and die every day because of poverty.  But that’s not God’s plan for the world.  And God is calling all of us to reach out to people in greatest need.  Tearfund is a Christian charity which partners with churches in more than 50 of the world’s poorest countries.  They tackle poverty and injustice through sustainable development, by responding to disasters and challenging injustice.  They believe an end to extreme poverty is possible.

We have focused on one of Tearfund’s Harvest themes, ‘Freedom to Grow’.  Climate change disproportionately affects the poor.  For example, subsistence farmers in Nepal are being driven off their land by crop failures due to drought.  Tearfund is helping establish irrigation systems, and agricultural diversification in Nepal, and many other countries, to help these struggling communities.

John and Rachel : Bible translation in the Middle East

John and Rachel are CMS Mission Partners working on translation and discipleship in the Middle East since the 1980s, currently serving with an oppressed minority in an unstable, war-afflicted area. Rachel was a member of Holy Trinity before going overseas. John is in an international team and focuses on Old Testament translation. They have two grown-up children. We pray regularly for them, and they do visit us when they are back in UK every couple of years or so.

Novi Most : Youth work in Bosnia-Herzegovina

Novi Most was set up in the wake of the Bosnian civil war in the 1990s. Even now, tension remains between the Bosnian, Serb and Croat groups, and the country is beset by corruption and high youth unemployment. Novi Most means ‘New Bridge’ and they bring young people together from all ethnic groups for activities such as music, art, sports, and camps, along with worship and discipleship. One leader says, ‘I believe this is the power and hope of the gospel, that we can leave the past behind us and be united in Christ.’ For more information, go to : https://www.novimost.org

Andrew : Outreach to East Asian Diaspora

Andrew is a graduate from Warwick University, and his ministry is focused on that campus. He returned to Coventry in 1987 after Bible College training, and ministry in India and on the ships of Operation Mobilisation (OM). Since then, he has been reaching out with the Good News to students from East Asia, through hospitality and Bible studies, and many have come to faith in Jesus. He also aims to prepare and support them for life and ministry as Christians when they return home.

(For Church services & events during this period, please refer to our Calendar)

We are usually open for visitors and private prayer: Wednesday, 11.00am to 2.00pm, Thursday to Saturday, 11.00am to 3.00pm and Sunday, 12.30pm (after the morning service) until 4.30pm. Our welcome team should be around to greet you and take any questions at these times.

There is a Holy Communion service most Wednesdays at noon, lasting approximately 40 minutes and followed by refreshments.  It takes place in the Marler Chapel, which is within the main church building.

For visiting on Sundays

We have four services:

Though varying in style and types of worship, each helps us to explore and understand the love of God and what that means to our lives.

Over summer holiday periods and at special times, like Easter, Harvest and Christmas, we often change our Sunday services to bring the two main morning congregations (9.30am and 11.15am) together at 10.30am.

Please check our Church calendar to know our service timings.

Children

If you have children, pre-schoolers have their own carpeted  area with toys where you can sit comfortably as a family and still be part of the service. Primary and Secondary children may join an age-appropriate activity group for part of the service when announced.

Parking

There are council car parks in Salt Lane and West Orchard, a short walk to the church. Disabled parking is available on Cuckoo Lane (CV1 5RN), very close to the church.

Please refer to our Church calendar or our Latest News letter to know What’s On.

We’d love to welcome you to any of the services listed here.  For more information on each of the church services and Who we are, follow the links below.
